The next MacBook update will happen when Intel releases the mobile i7 chip. It was first thought this could happen this year. But it seems all releases got a bit pushed back early on this year. So I think more likely the i7 launch into the mobile lineup isn’t realistic until 2014. If Intel has the chips done it could be right off the bat in January, but we’ll just have to wait and see. As per usual Apple’s not talking.
The new MacBook is fine. Its an Apple product. It looks sharp and performs amazingly well. But it is a Rev A product, so I wouldn’t buy it. There have been a few issues surrounding power mode problems and track pad problems. Both were supposedly fixable with firmware upgrades, but I never did hear much more about them again (so either the anomalies will still show up or Apple quietly fixed it in an update).
I think the main caveat of the new MacBook is the fact that you can only have a glossy screen. There is no longer a matte finish option. In a lot of case I’m sure the glossy screen is just fine. But its a laptop, its meant to be in lots of different locations. And there are plenty of situation where you can’t easily control lighting and don’t want the glare that a glossy finish gives. Plus glossy is a finger print magnet.

mac is horrible. the os sucks and has just about no compability with the vast majority of third party applications. it only costs alot because everything is made by apple and the only reason i can think of for buying is 1.you think it looks cool wich is retarded since when i’m doing something on my laptop i tend to look at my screen not the stuff on the back. or 2. your are mentally retarded in the field of computers and think it’s good because it costs and because the man on tv says so
